The Concept
When you make P lines and there are Z special blocks in that lines,
you will get P x Z special blocks. For example, you make 4 lines
and in those 4 lines, there are 1 'A' and 1 'Q' specials blocks.
Then, you will get 4 A's and 4 Q's.
You only can use the special block inside the red box and the red
box can not be moved. You use the special block by pressing the
player number of the player you want to attack. If you want to
use it on yourself, press your own player number.
If you feel that the special block inside the red box is not
usefull, you can delete it by pressing 'D'.
Before deleting the special block, always ask a question to yourself,
"Is the next special block more usefull than the current one?" If yes,
do not hesitate to delete your special block even if the current one
is a 'S', 'N', or 'G' special block. For example, at the beginning of
the game you get 1 'N' and 1 'O' blocks. Then, you see there is 'O'
in your opponent's field. If I were you, I will delete my 'N' and
use my 'O' to my opponent to screw up his field. You may wonder why
I don't use my 'N' to myself and use 'O' to attack my opponent?
Because if I nuke my field, I have to start building my field from
beginning again and I will waste my time.
Special Blocks Overview
'A' block
attack:
Add a line to your opponents. Very useful if you
have many A's and use them at the same time very fast.
This will make your opponent panic and have no time to use
their defending special blocks.
defend:Add a line to yourself after you nuke yourself so that
you can save time.
'B' block
attack:
Removes all special blocks from your opponent's field
defend:
When your are sure your opponent has 'O' and you still have
no special blocks for protection, remove 'O' in your field by using
'B' to yourself. However, if you are so confidence that you can get
that 'O' in your field very fast, you do not need to remove it :).
'C' block
defend:
Clear a line. Use it to yourself or to your team mates.
attack:
When your opponent has dangerous special blocks at the
bottom of his field, and you don't have 'B' to clear them, you can
use 'C' to clear his line and this will also clear the dangerous
special blocks.
Clear your opponent lines when he wants to make a tetris. This
can delay his time to make a tetris and will make him frustated :).
'R' block
attack:
Removes random blocks from a player's field. Very usefull
if you use it to someone who wants to build a tetris or if
someone has dangerous special blocks on his field.
'Q' block
attack:
This will quake a player's field. The function is almost
same like 'R', however in my opinion 'Q' is more powerful.
'O' block
attack:
This called block bomb and it is very very evil!
This will clear 3x3 portions on a player's field anywhere
there are 'O' blocks, and those blocks that were in the 3x3
areas will be scattered around the field. Use this only when
a player has 'O' on his field, otherwise it won't cause any
damage.
'N' block
defend:
Removes all blocks from a playing field and give the player
a fresh start.
attack:
Almost same function like 'C' block. If a player has very
very dangerous special blocks on his field, do not hesitate to
nuke his field. You may wonder how dangerous someone's field is
so that you need to nuke it. Well, you decide yourself. It depends
on the situation. For example, I have only 1 'N' and my field
looks good. Then, someone has a 'S' block on his field and he
tries to build 2 lines so that he can get 2 S's. Well, if I were
you, I will nuke his field. Why? Because if he could get 2 S's,
I will be in big trouble. First, he switches my field, then I nuke
my field, then he switches my field again. Argh... I have no nuke
to my field :(. There are still hundreds of cases when you need
to nuke your opponent's field. Just keep practice and you will
find them. Also, when you nuke someone's field, he has to build
his field from the beginning again, and this will give you some
time to get special blocks and take the control of the game.
'S' block
attack:
This will switch your playing field with
another player's field. If either of
the fields' block stack is over 16 blocks
high, the stack will be lowered. I will explain more about 'S' in
advance strategies section.
'G' block
defend:
This block will take all the blocks
on the field and "pull" them all towards
the bottom of the field eliminating any
gaps in the blockstack.
attack:
Gravity tetris. I'll explain it on advance strategies section
because it's too complicated
The important key of using specials is that delete unwanted specials.
Do not think that 'S', 'N', or 'G' are the ultimate specials so that
you won't ever delete it. Saving 'N' until you need it, is unwise
idea because when you try to save your 'N' until the last minute,
you will not attack your opponents and they can get many many specials
to attack you.
I never save my specials. I always use it as soon as I get them.
My playing style is to build 2 or 3 lines, attack, build 2 or 3 lines
again, attack, then if I have enough special blocks, I will try to
build a tetris. So, I always keep my field very low and attack my
opponents continuously.
